Tuesday 15th in Motueka

Drama struck this morning! We needed to be up early as  the LLW needed to speak to a number of her men; some of whom were Luxembourgers! The electrics were not working in the van which meant that MicroSoft Pros, iPads and Blueberries could not be charged. We were plugged in OK, the trip switches were in the correct position but no juice! After much investigation it was discovered that of the three switches in the power box next to our van the two that controlled our supply and the van next door were both down and on. The master switch was also down and upon very close inspection it was clear from the minuscule inscription that down was off. It appears that our German neighbours who arrived yesterday evening had assumed that it needed to be up and well and had inadvertently switched off the power for both of us. Since the lights etc also work off the van battery we had not noticed any problem yesterday evening.

When the drama was over, and the men dealt with we were able to enjoy the most glorious morning. Not a cloud in the sky and as soon as the sun was above the trees, temperatures climbed rapidly. A lovely cycle ride along the front before it became too hot and then off to Kaiteriteri beach.

When we arrived at Kaiteriteri beach there was simply nowhere to park and so Plan B was initiated. Go to Little Kaiteriteri beach which is equally beautiful but devoid of cafe's etc and so always less crowded. We quickly found a parking slot and very soon swimming in the warm blue sea - heaven!
