Monday 12th December - 0ff to Summer

The day has arrived for our departure to the Southern Hemisphere and, as you can see from the photo below, the weather is doing a very good job of reminding us why it's a good idea to head well south in winter!

Packing has been completed, last minute emails are being sent and the LLW is busy finalising numerous documents (and organising SAGE visits!)

Our flight is at 20:30 from Gatwick which is so much better for us than flying from Heathrow and we are scheduled to arrive in Dubai 07:00 Tuesday morning where I suggest a quiet few hours by the pool may be in order.

I discovered last week that Robin & Tara will be in Dubai on Tuesday this being one of the stopovers on their latest cruise so we are hoping we may be able to meet.

We were picked up by our taxi driver, Alan, who drove us swiftly but very safely through very busy traffic to Gatwick North and bags were quickly deposited and we checked in. We sped through security and the LLW was in her element when we arrived at the Emirates Lounge and she settled into her seat with a glass of Veuve Cliquot.

Just 90 minutes to takeoff!
