Sunday dawned grey and cool so we did not rush out! After a leisurely breakfast we stayed at the hotel for a while and late morning the weather improved so we walked the 1 1/2 miles into Sankt Gilgen along the beautiful lakeside path. Photos don't do justice to the amazing green/blue of the lake which looks quite different depending upon the angle or height it is being viewed from.
As we returned to the hotel, the weather was improving further so off we went for a cycle ride around the lake! It certainly was not warm ~12c which is down 23c on the temperatures we were experiencing a few days ago. The LLW was as usual rather reluctant to tackle the steep hills just outside Furberg but after a slow start we were soon racing along the lakeside route. The sun came out and everywhere looked much better but sadly the temperature did not rise that much.
Making good time we arrived at Gschwendt which is opposite the town of St Wolfgang and where the lake boats stop. There is a fair sized car park at Gschwendt and this is often used by coach trips where visitors then take the boat across the lake to St Wolfgang.
On board a hot cup of tea was in order as we headed back to Furberg. Wonderful views but a cold wind meant time out on deck was limited!
Just time to shower and change and then head off to the Angusta restaurant for a dinner of cote de boeuf!
