Monday dawned bright and clear and there was no avoiding the challenge. The LLW had irrevocably agreed to cycle the 3 lakes, the Titisee, the Windgfallweihersee and the Schluchtsee (albeit making extensive use of an Ebike!).
The first section along the Titisee was easy and flat but gradually we climbed and climbed and then encountered the very steep 2Km that we had been warned about.
No problem! The Ebikes had 4 settings, Off, Eco, Normal and Maximum and on the Maximum setting the LLW swept up the mountain to arrive at a lovely tavern to revive herself (Cafe Latte) and the Ebike (battery charge). Suitable refreshed we headed off to the Windgfallweihersee and, via wonderfully varied cycle rides through forests and meadows, we arrived at the Schluchtsee where we enjoyed a delightful lunch of Rosti (and a small celebratory glass of Gruner Veltliner) at a very quiet and pretty hotel.
Down to the lake to enjoy the views and then back (almost entirely downhill) to return to Titisee. A wonderful day!
