Friday 14th December

It's freezing in Rackham and the temperature has not risen above 0C all day which is quite a contrast to the 40C being experienced in Perth WA where we are flying to tomorrow morning. Fortunately the temperature in Perth is forecast to drop to a perfect 25/26C when we arrive.

The LLW is frantically trying to put all of her men into their respective boxes before we head off but I'm not sure this is being entirely successful.  Emails are flying, documents being revised and the telephone has been overheating all day.

Ray has been busy organising refurbishment of the Rackham Street Sewage System, steering a company through a tricky cash flow issue, trying to raise enthusiasm for a summer party at Dolphin Court, Rustington and dealing with the myriad issues at Amberley School and the proposed Federation with St James' Coldwaltham.  I think the LLW has the easier tasks!!

Several last minute plans have been made including booking a day's visit to Rottnest Island off the coast near Perth. The island looks lovely and is home to the world's smallest and apparently friendliest marsupial, the Quokka which are about the size of a cat. We have booked a trip from Perth on a fast ferry and including bike hire on the island. Sounds great! Fingers crossed for reasonable temperatures and gentle winds.

Lots of other things planned for Perth and Fremantle so hopefully we can fit it all in. Can't wait to be on the plane!
